You can help end the death penalty in Alameda County.

Here's how:

• Pass a Resolution calling for an end to death sentencing and investment in public safety. Download a sample resolution and instructions for how to pass. Some groups that have passed a resolution are:

• Organizations, congregations, and local businesses who support ending the death penalty in Alameda County.
• Elected officials, community leaders, and religious leaders who support ending the death penalty in Alameda County.


• Sign the Online Petition and gather more signatures. Sign the online petition, or download a copy of the petition.
• Add Your Name to our Sign on Letter. Faith leaders, elected officials and other community leaders are encouraged to join prominent Alameda County residents in personally calling on the District Attorney to stop seeking death sentences. Download the letter or email us for more information. The following leaders have already signed the letter:

• Volunteer at an Event to support ACCADP efforts to raise awareness about the problems of the death penalty in Alameda County. If you are interested in volunteering, please email us.
• Bring a Speaker to your community, classroom or congregation. We can provide a wide range of speakers who can address the flaws with the death penalty including: wrongfully convicted people, survivors of murder victims, former prosecutors or law enforcement, clergy, and experts. Email us to request a speaker.
• Attend our Meetings, held the first Thursday of each month, 5:30 - 7:00 pm at 1000 Broadway, 5th Floor in Downtown Oakland. Anyone interested is encouraged to attend.
